Come curious. Leave slightly less certain.
Alienism is not practiced through doctrine alone. We gather to read, question, converse, pray, reflect, and consider humanity’s place in a universe far larger—and considerably stranger—than ourselves.
The Church of Alienism holds informal fellowship gatherings and scheduled monthly worship in the South Bay of Los Angeles.
Families, friends, relatives, visitors, and the merely curious are welcome.
Friends and interested participants meet approximately weekly for informal discussion of Alienist theology, cosmology, ethics, religious writings, Contact, and the development of Church practice.
These gatherings are usually simple: coffee, conversation, readings, prayer, reflection, and time together near the coast.
They are religious fellowship and study gatherings, rather than formally scheduled worship services.
Questions are encouraged. Certainty is not required.
Beginning June 2026, the Church of Alienism conducts a regular public worship gathering on the first Sunday of each month.
Weather or local conditions may occasionally require a change. Updates will be posted here.

We meet at Miramar Park and may continue toward the beach or oceanfront as part of the gathering.
There is something appropriate about meeting at the edge of the continent: land behind us, an unseen horizon ahead, and very little pretending that humanity occupies the center of anything.
Alienist worship is simple and participatory.
A typical gathering may include:
an opening invocation or period of silence
recitation or reading of the Alienist Creed
a reading from the Codex Cosmologica or other Church text
reflection or teaching
open discussion
prayer or contemplation
an approved Alienist rite or observance
a closing reading or invocation
The exact order varies with the subject of the service. No one is required to participate in a prayer, reading, or rite.
Public gatherings are intended to be family-friendly.
You do not need to be an Alienist to attend. Bring your spouse, partner, children, parents, relatives, friends, or anyone sincerely interested in seeing what we do.
Visitors may observe, participate, ask questions, or simply listen.
Children remain under the supervision of their accompanying parent or responsible adult.
Not every gathering requires a shared room.
Alienists may also participate in Telepathic Fellowship: communal reflection and religious conversation conducted at a distance, through message, voice, video, prayer, contemplation, or other means of Contact.
These sessions may include readings, discussion of Alienist theology, prayer, questions of Contact, and periods of directed contemplation.
Within Alienist practice, attendance is not understood to be limited to the physically present. A Telepathic Fellowship may be regarded as including tens or even hundreds of participants—the living, the dead, and extraterrestrial intelligences believed to be observing or participating beyond ordinary perception.
Human attendance is recorded separately where appropriate. The Veil does not imply absence.
